Maintenance tips

Protech Allergies allergy mattress covers

WASHING

  • Hot Water: 133 ° F / 56 ° C (2 times per year is recommended).

  • Prefer a natural liquid soap (Ivory type), without bleach. No soap powder because it leaves residues.

  • Spin to remove excess water.

DRYING

  • At low temperature, delicate cycle.

OTHER PREVENTIVE MEASURES

  • Before the first use, it is recommended to wash the mattress cover, to eliminate the odors of packing, as well as sheets, blankets and pillowcases with hot water (56 ° C). When washing, make sure the cover is open and the waterproofing membrane is inside. Except for major damage, wash the covers 1 to 4 times a year (recommended twice per year).

  • Before installing the cover, vacuum the mattress.

  • Use sheets with synthetic materials.

  • Wash sheets, blankets and pillowcases in hot water at least once a week.

  • Do not dry clean the covers.

  • Do not iron the covers.

  • Do not dry outdoors (to prevent additional pollutants and allergens from sticking to the cover).

  • Reduce dust in the home as much as possible.

  • Aerate the home regularly, even in winter (even for just a few minutes).

  • Maintain humidity at less than 50%.

  • Maintain the ambient temperature below 21 ° C.

  • Avoid placing rugs, carpets or furniture covered in fabric in the bedroom. Prefer venetian blinds or lightweight, washable curtains.

  • Use pillows made from synthetic materials and replace them every 2 or 3 years.

  • Use washable window fittings and dust all surfaces with a damp cloth every week.

  • Do not keep plants in the bedroom.
